Serimont

Switzerland is where we sit with you. It is not where we stop looking.

We build made-to-measure suits for clients in Europe, from a network we put together ourselves: cloth chosen at its source, production partners we deal with directly, and tailoring expertise in Hong Kong.

You meet us in Lausanne. Everything before that, from the fibre to the cloth to the making, is work we have already done, so that what reaches you is a garment cut to one person and priced against what it costs to make.

Collection

Cut for the room you walk into.

Suits, jackets, trousers and shirting, made to your measurements. No two orders are identical, so nothing here is a catalogue number.

  • Suits

Single or double-breasted, in worsted for the working week and in linen for the months a wool suit punishes you. Two-piece unless you ask for the waistcoat.

    Business, occasion, warm weather

  • Jackets and trousers

Separates cut to be worn apart: a soft jacket that survives a flight, trousers with the leg and the break decided on you rather than on a chart.

    Odd jackets, flannels, linen trousers

  • Shirting

Collar, cuff and placket chosen against the jacket they will sit under, in cotton weights that still hold a line at the end of a long day.

    Day shirts, evening, travel

Made to your measurements, not to a size chart.

Cloth, cut, lapel, lining, buttons and finish are decided in the consultation. Everything after that is fitting.

The world behind the suit

Every part of a suit is made somewhere. We will tell you which part is made where.

Nothing here is assembled by accident. Each origin was chosen for one reason, and each one is named.

Where a Serimont suit comes fromWorld map marking six origins: wool in Australia, linen in France, cashmere blends in Italy, labels and production in Guangming, tailoring in Hong Kong, and the client experience in Switzerland.123456
Six origins behind one garment. Switzerland, the brighter mark, is where you meet us.

1Australia

Wool

A fibre selected for how it holds a shape and how it behaves across a long working day.

2France

Linen

Open weave and a dry hand, for heat and for the way it creases honestly rather than badly.

3Italy

Cashmere blends

Blended into cloth for weight, softness and warmth through the colder half of the year.

4Guangming

Labels and production

Selected labels, components and production partners, worked with directly rather than through agents.

5Hong Kong

Tailoring

Where garments are made up and refined. A production capability, not a place we receive clients.

6Switzerland

Your side of it

Consultation, cloth, measurement, fittings and delivery, in Lausanne, with the people you met.

Why the price sits where it does

A traditional house buys through agents, holds stock, carries a boutique network and prices the whole apparatus into the garment. We carry none of that. The saving is structural, and it goes into cloth and fit instead of into margin.

Specific cloth references, compositions and weights are confirmed with you at consultation, against what is actually available that season.

How it is made

Six stages, in order, and you are present for four of them.

From the first conversation to the finished garment, usually over several weeks.

The full process

Book an appointment

  1. 1

    Consultation

What the garment is for. How you work, where you travel, how long the days run.

  2. 2

    Measure

Measurements taken, and posture and proportion assessed - the part a size chart cannot do.

  3. 3

    Selection

Cloth, weight, colour, construction, lapel, lining and finish, chosen against the brief.

  4. 4

    Tailoring

The garment is cut and made up through our tailoring network.

  5. 5

    Fitting

Tried on, marked and corrected. Balance, shoulder, waist and length are settled here.

  6. 6

    Delivery

Pressed, finished and handed over. Later adjustments are part of the arrangement.

Materials

The cloth decides more than the cut does.

A good cut in the wrong cloth fails by the afternoon. Fibre first, then weight, then colour.

Australian wool Recovers its shape across a working week. Year-round, chosen by weight.
French linen Dry, open and cool. For heat, travel and the months a wool suit punishes you.
Italian cashmere blends Warmth and a quiet surface, without losing the tailored line.

Drawn studies of weave and construction, not photographs of stock.

All materials

Pencil drawing of a seated man in a double-breasted striped suit, hands resting together.

A suit is judged in the first four seconds and worn for the next ten years.

Most of an appointment is spent on how you actually work, on the travel, the room and the length of the day, because that is what decides the cloth and the cut.

Appointment

Your suit begins with a conversation.

One client at a time, by appointment. There is no showroom floor to walk and nothing to be sold off a rail.

If you cannot come to Lausanne

Remote tailoring

An order can be completed without a visit. You send measurements taken to our instructions, choose cloth from what we send you, and we work through the brief by email or call.

It is the second-best version of this. Without a fitting in the room we cannot correct a garment on your body, which is the part that makes made-to-measure worth doing. If Lausanne is reachable, come to Lausanne.
